At Home Timber & Hardware Group, our most important role is to provide our valued customers with safe, quality products. We put our customers first including keeping them informed of any issues with products resulting in withdrawals and recalls.

We are committed to ensuring that all products we sell are safe and of the highest quality across all our Home Timber & Hardware Group’ businesses.

Together with our Suppliers, we have a responsibility to provide the best possible product and service to our customers.

To support this responsibility, we have in place a clear and defined product approval process. This process includes:

  • Factory auditing (quality requirements)
  • Product testing and
  • Inspections

CURRENT RECALLS

Bosch Orbital Sander (various models) manufactured by Robert Bosch (Aust) Pty Ltd

Please be advised there is an urgent PRODUCT RECALL for Bosch Orbital Sander (various models) manufactured by Robert Bosch (Aust) Pty Ltd.

Please download this Consumer Product Safety Recall Notice to identify affected models and serial number and for instructions for those who have purchased this product.

 

Freestyle Chlorine Liquid manufactured by Pool Resources (Zodiac)

Please be advised there is an urgent PRODUCT RECALL for Freestyle Chlorine Liquid manufactured by Pool Resources (Zodiac).

This product recall applies to ALL 5Lt containers of Freestyle Chlorine Liquid (Product Code: 1004305) with the APN 9310210104704 irrespective of the lid colour, the store brand name or the State.

INFINITY and OLSENT branded TPS and Orange Round Electrical Cables

The ACCC has issued a consolidated voluntary recall notice relating to Infinity and Olsent branded TPS and Orange Round electrical cables supplied by Infinity Cable Co Pty Ltd.   You can read the ACCC’s consolidated voluntary recall notice here.

There is no immediate safety risk associated with the installed cable.  

The cables were sold in Australia by more than 140 suppliers and wholesalers, including Masters Home Improvement stores and John Danks & Son stores (supplied to ‘Home Timber and Hardware’, ‘Thrifty Link Hardware’ and ‘Plants Plus’ stores as well as a few independent hardware stores).

The cables were sold between March 2012 and October 2013 in Masters stores in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. 

The cables were sold between July and October 2013 in John Danks & Son in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia. 
Masters and John Danks & Son stores withdrew the cables from sale in October 2013. 

Customers who believe they have purchased the affected cable from Masters or John Danks & Son should return any unused or removed cable to their nearest store with their proof of purchase for a refund. 

Any customer who suspects they have the affected cable purchased from Masters or John Danks & Son installed in their premises should contact their electrician to confirm if  the affected cable was installed in their premise. If this is the case, they should register their details through the Masters and John Danks & Son Infinity Cable Consumer Hotline 1300 236 787 and we will be in contact with you about next steps.

Customers should not attempt to inspect or remove installed cables. 

Masters and John Danks & Son are committed to carrying out the recall and remedial actions set out in the ACCC’s consolidated voluntary recall notice.

Masters and John Danks & Son will continue to work closely with the ACCC and State and Territory electrical safety and building regulators on this issue.

Flood Tile & Laminate Brush Cleamer and Thinner (1L and 500mL)


All units of Flood Tile & Laminate Paint Brush Cleaner & Thinners, in both the 1L and 500mL size (“the Product”), are being recalled. The Product was sold from August 2013 (1L size) and November 2014 (500mL size). 

Defect: The child-proof cap may not be adequately secure and, in some cases, may be openable by a child. Hazard: If the product is not stored out of reach of children as directed, young children may be able to open the container and come into contact with or consume its contents, which are poisonous and corrosive. Contact with the contents may result in injury or irritation to the skin and eyes, and to mucous membranes, respiratory tract and lungs in case of inhalation. Ingestion of the contents may result in poisoning injury or even death. 

What to do: Handle the product in accordance with the safety instructions on the tin, and either use all of the contents immediately, or secure the lid as tightly as possible, put it in two layers of securely closed plastic bags, and return it to the place of purchase for a refund. In case of any contact with the contents, follow the first aid instructions on the container carefully.
